While there are many types of cotton fabrics available today, we believe that a good bedding fabric should begin with a clean foundation and remain as true as possible to the natural character of cotton.

Scoured Cotton Fabric is 100% cotton fabric that has gone through a cleaning process called Scouring before it is used. This is a standard preparation step in the textile industry. During scouring, natural and manufacturing residues are removed from Greige Cotton Fabric (unfinished cotton fabric), including:

• Sizing and starch used during weaving
• Natural waxes and oils
• Pectin and proteins
• Cotton seed fragments
• Dust and other manufacturing residues

These materials are not harmful, but they can make raw cotton feel stiff, reduce absorbency, and prevent the fabric from performing as intended. Scouring thoroughly cleans the fibers before further processing or use.

Our reason is simple — we want the fabric that touches your skin to begin with the cleanest foundation possible. After the Scouring process, the fabric is cleaned at the fiber level without requiring additional bleaching or dyeing.

For our bedding, we choose Scoured Cotton Fabric that remains unbleached and undyed, allowing the cotton to retain its natural color while avoiding unnecessary processing.
